This ring is hand fabricated from 14k yellow and white gold flat wire, and holds a 16mm x 12mm rutilated quartz and a 2.5mm white sapphire.
I wanted to create a design and document the steps I went through to create it. I did that with this ring, taking lots of pictures at the various stages. When I get a bit more time, I'll add a page to this site showing the steps. I'll call it, "the birth of a ring"!
Rutilated quartz is a really interesting stone. It is clear quartz, with golden colored rutile inclusions inside the stone. Since all inclusions are oriented differently, every rutilated quartz looks different and unique. I used white sapphire as an accent because I like sapphire, and it is not what people expect to see.
