This ring is cast in 14k yellow gold with a white gold bezel around the pearl.
I carved this ring two years ago. When I figured out what it would weigh (and therefore cost to cast) I decided current economic times did not warrant a 1200 pearl ring, and I set it to the back of my bench. But it kept eating at me, and I'd get it out from time to time and admire it. This year I decided to cast it, regardless of the price of gold, and I'm glad I did. It is one of my favorite pieces, and I must admit, I'm tempted to keep it for myself. It feels awesome on the hand- it's heavy, at 9.3 dwt, but that's one of the things I love about it. It features a 9.7mm freshwater pearl.
