This neckpiece is hand fabricated in 14k yellow and white gold flat and round wire, with dyed black freshwater pearls and faceted white sapphires. The clasp is a 14k lobster clasp, with a 14k chain extender attached, to give you flexibility on the length you can wear it. Its range is from 16 inches to 17.5 inches. The center gold section is 2.4 inches in length.
If you've been browsing this site long, you've already figured out I love pearls. I drew this in my sketchbook, and created it within days of hatching the idea. It's one of the few designs I've done where I didn't change a single thing from the drawing. I created it pretty much exactly as drawn. This piece must lay right at the base of the neck to look and hang correctly, so I've built in some adjustment for that. I've used white sapphires with the dyed black pearls because they have an interesting sparkle- most white sapphire has just a hint of blue to it, and that works really nicely with these dark, almost iridescent pearls.
Note: This entire piece is strung together- the center section is not removable.
