This pendant is hand fabricated in 14k yellow gold with a 22k gold bezel surrounding a free-form opal doublet. The pendant measures 27.5mm in length.
This is another one of my opal doublet pendants. Sometimes opal grows in really thin veins, and the opal is too thin to cut and use in jewelry. When this happens, we can use the beautiful pieces by backing them with another stone. The two stones are bonded together and then cut into shapes, thus the term, opal doublet. The stones we purchased are bonded onto icky looking opal called potch, which is readily available in thick pieces. It doesn't matter that the back side isn't pretty, as it is covered up with the bezel, and is really only there for functionality.
This pendant will ride nicely on a standard chain, as well as fitting up to a 6 millimeter omega chain.
Please note: The above price is for the pendant only. All chains are sold separately.
